The 48-Hour Reset Plan

Friday Night: The Ceremony

  • 6:00 PM: The Box. Everyone puts devices in a shoebox. Tape it shut. Draw a "Do Not Open Until Monday" skull on it.
  • 7:00 PM: Pizza & Paper. Order food. Cover the table in butcher paper. Draw while you eat.
  • 8:00 PM: Flashlight Reading. Turn off all house lights. Read books by flashlight/headlamp in a fort.

Saturday: The Deep Work

  • 9:00 AM: Pancake Art. Make shapes. It takes longer. That's the point.
  • 11:00 AM: The Big Build. Cardboard fort, Lego city, or a real treehouse repair. Must take >2 hours.
  • 2:00 PM: The Boredom Peak. Kids will whine. Do not fix it. Wait 20 mins. Creativity usually follows the boredom peak.
  • 4:00 PM: Nature Mission. Scavenger hunt or hike. No phones for maps (print one out!).
  • 7:00 PM: The Family Talent Show. Bad magic tricks, lip-sync battles, or telling jokes.

Sunday: The Slow Down

  • Morning: Write letters to grandparents (with stamps!).
  • Afternoon: Board Game Tournament (See Guide #6).
  • 5:00 PM: The Unboxing. Open the device box. Ask: "What did you miss? What did you NOT miss?"
